Safari

To arrange a dedicated safari tour needs a lot of local knowledge. We know that, because of the many parks it is important – and also depending on the season – you need consultation from us. We advise you were we will take you; for how many days, the cost of accommodation, cost of car/guide, parkfees.

With a direct meeting with Dentrek we make a itinerary together. We never combine parties – you only travel with your own group.

The equator runs through Kenya. That means the parks to the north are different from the ones at the south – and you see wildlife in the north you don`t see in the south. So usually with recommend that a safaritour starts in Nairobi and you head north for a week or so and then proceed to the south for another week.

stay

Going from one park/city to another we usually never travel more than a few hours. We locate our base around equator so it is easy to travel either to the north or south; that means more quality time for you when staying at your place and more – much more – time looking for wildlife.

Accommodation in Kenya is easy. You can choose from all kinds; a festival tent with a sleeping bag, a nice room by a river, small cottages build in Kikuyu style or the must sublime lodges inside the parks. We advise you to combine these options. Starting at a cheap hotel in Nairobi and then the culmination of a sublime lodge in one of the parks.

By doing so you really appreciate your investment.

We always give you 3 or 4 options were to stay in each city and 2 or 3 options inside the parks

About Dentrek

Dentrek is about passion for Kenya; its people, animlas and nature. Margaret Karanja has been taken relatives and friends to Kenya for nearly 25 years and arranged safari tours and trekking all over the country.

The idea of starting a dedicated travel agency came to life in 2016. Focus on tailor made safaris with excellent guides and drivers. A wide option of parks and lodges and all sorts of accommodation – from entry level to the most expensive costing several hundred US dollars pr. night.

But also showing the local side of the country. Local restaurants and shopping facilities, small unknow cities and roads off the beaten track. And small hotels or Bed and Breakfast only known to real Kenyans.

The name Dentrek is short for Denmark and trekking. Dentrek has extended bonds with Denmark and we only arrange safari tours directly from Copenhagen or from the office in Nairobi, Kenya.

We use Danish guides and our Operations Manager Peter Kimunya speaks English.

In ordre to arrange a safari tour it is important that we meet. During many meetings we design your whole trip and proper advice is given.
